Tomas Mancillas Jr., 79, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Tomas was born to Tomas and Paulita Mancillas on January 4, 1938 in Falfurrias, TX.

Tomas excelled in his military career - quickly advancing to the rank of Master Sargent. During his time in the army he received numerous medals, awards, and accommodations - one of his most notable being a Bronze Star. It was after his military career that Master Sargent Mancillas became better known as "Wello". Wello never met a stranger - he had an open heart to all. He always had a hot meal to feed you - hungry or not! Wello was someone you called on when you had a question about anything. He was always helping someone in one way or another - whether it be giving them a ride, buying them clothes, loaning money, or giving them advice. He always had a song in his heart and some sort of delicious meal cooking on the stove. Wello is also known for his love for animals - it started when he was a boy and his pet pig, Tuni. Any pet that Wello had was sure to spoiled - for many years he would cook (yes you read that right) a meal for the dogs after preparing meals for the family. To say that Tomas was a family man would be an understatement. Everything he did was for his family - he was very proud of his children, his grandchildren, and most recently his great grandchildren.

Tomas is survived by wife, Louisa Mancillas; brother, Basilio Mancillas; children, Maria Sarita Simon & Robert Mancillas; grandchildren Crystal Santos, Monica Garcia, & James Simon; great-grandchildren Erick Drake &Nevaeh Simon.
